    Pros

    Amazing work environment, people get along well.

    Cons

    Not a perfect Salesforce.com instance, however, they are working on it.

    Pros

    - Company is very flexible when it comes to personal time off.
    - Great work environment
    - Not too much micromanaging

    Cons

    - Not always recognized for the work and goals you accomplish
    - Praise given on a "quantity over quality" basis

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Recognize people for the quality of work they do and not just numbered metrics. Stop showing favoritism to some employees just for their "numbers".

    Pros

    Managers are pretty easygoing about getting time off
    Employees are friendly
    Emeryville is close to a lot of good restaurants

    Cons

    Management takes a company in a new direction every quarter
    Product is antiquated and efforts to upgrade it are minimum
    Zero respect/appreciations for employees
    Benefits are minimal - no 401K matching, no bonuses
    Too many promises broken to list
    No regular reviews or raises
    Upper management is never around and there is little communication
    Lots of money wasting decisions made over the years
    Most of the staff in Emeryville office, employees with experience between 4-8 years, are being laid off and replaced with cheaper employees in Salt Lake City with 6 months of experience
    Really seems like upper management is in it to bleed money out of the company and then sell it off
    Company is dishonest with its clients

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Please leave and pass the company over to a group of people who care about their employees and product. You have driven this company into the ground.

    Pros

    The people, except that by now there are likely very few of the competent, and willing to go above and beyond, are still there.

    Cons

    - Management is entirely unwilling to talk straight with the employees
    - Unreasonable expectations and deadlines, hand in hand with:
    - EVERYTHING is a critical project
    - Monday's critical request is forgotten by the time you deliver it on Tuesday, often with something like "why are you dithering with that, don't you know THIS is critical."

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get the house in as much order as you can in one quarter, tender your resignation and let someone else have a try.
    Alternately, continue on the current path, earn as much money as you can and someone turn running what was once a good company into the ground into a win on your resume so you can jump to another company and screw them too.

    Pros

    Great location - short drive to many restaurants. Close to public transportation
    Individual contributors have a lot to offer
    Good teamwork within departments

    Cons

    Some people are protecting their positions instead of making good decisions. So it can be political.
    A lot of employee turnover.
    Salary adjustments needed for the Bay Area's improving economy. Need to attract top talent!
    Product needs some work - developments lags

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get involved! Individuals assume you are not invesnted in the company's future since you are never in the office.
    Listen!! A lot of people have good ideas - they are just filtered by the time you hear anything!

    Pros

    Exciting growth opportunities, feels like a start-up company but is stable because of the large install base and being part of Seagate. The new executive leadership (including several new VP leaders in the 6-12 months) is very positive and pushing the company in the right direction. Unfortunately some people are impatient, but the reality is i365 is growing and stable, has very happy customers, and the products are always improving.

    Cons

    i365 was struggling under previous leadership because of the acquired companies and leadership not having been combined together. The changes rolled out have taken time to produce results, although clearly on the way now.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stay the course, the industry is different than in the 90s and growth takes time. Leverage the Seagate backing, i365 has a huge opportunity to dominate its industry, but may need Seagate to lend an assist to provide dollars or systems to accelerate the growth.

    Pros

    Pay rate for my position is solid, with frequent mention for more compensation in the future.
    I feel appreciated for my skillset - I am thanked daily for my contribution.
    My management team is supportive, and willing to ensure I have the tools I need to complete my tasks.

    Cons

    I don't believe there is a career track for me at this time - no room for advancement in the position I am currently in.
    Sometimes it is very noisy in our 'cubical farms'

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Continue to incent the 'on-the-ground' employees. Remember and value the 'little guys' and their contributions. Create training opportunities for career path advancement.

    Management acts as a Fraternity (very political)
    Lack of direction.
    No formal employee review in place.

    Listen to your employees and treat them with respect. Try to make it less obvious that ALL you care is the botton line.
