I have been working at iCan Benefit full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Company has a sophisticated marketing department which gets its agents quality leads; lots of training and product on-boarding for agents; management team focuses on what works while trying new products to address consumer needs; rolling out subsidized plan availability to callers has given agents, in most cases, a full portfolio of options to offer consumers.

    Cons

    Call platform could use some TLC;

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on aggressive growth of core offerings.

I worked at iCan Benefit full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Guaranteed salary; generous pto; casual dress code

    Cons

Sub-standard insurance products geared toward the poor and indigent; small commissions, if you even ever get what's owed; long, boring hours on the phone talking to people with a "ghetto" mentality; co-workers, who will throw you under the bus to steal a deal; overly-compliant rules that are forever changing; managers who regularly nitpick over your monitored calls; short lunch breaks of only 1/2 hour; extreme favoritism toward certain employees, who get the "priority" calls; little or no chance to advance within the company, unless you are one of the chosen few (no religious implication intended)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop reneging on your promises to your agents regarding commissions, treat all agents fairly and equally, lengthen the lunch hour to one hour, and for goodness sake, modify those bloated executive salaries (totaling over $1,000,000), 'cause they're not earning them! And that goes for the CEO's wife as well.

I have been working at iCan Benefit full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The potential to make money is here and the energy in the office is very good. Not stuffy or corporate feeling almost everyone I have encounter has been very friendly and helpful. We're making deals and positive energy is following. I've been to the Boca location Miramar seems to have a better vibe and more open atmosphere.

    Cons

    Leads can be so so

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A bonus for less deals would be nice. Better products and offer benefits.

Upper management is helpful and encouraging, genuinely committed to the success of the individuals on their teams. I feel it is a great, healthy working environment - friendly and supportive. Open to learning new and innovative ways to help the business grow.

    Cons

I can't think of any at this time.

I worked at iCan Benefit full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Agents are mostly good people and HR Mgr. really cares about the employees

    Cons

Management talks alot but never follows through on what they say. No benefits available for agents and commissions are low and sometimes not paid.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to employees and spend a little money for benefits and decent wages.

I worked at iCan Benefit full-time for less than a year

    Pros

They solicit you with a small gtd salary, but fire you after one or two days with low production!

    Cons

Confusing advertising produces confused leads, working hours till 9 pm (who wants to be called by a telemarketer at 9pm?) Terrible choice of insurance products. Must sell association memberships to get bonus. AD&D commission is the lowest I've ever seen in the industry. High turnover, Revolving door operation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have a nice day, see ya.

I have been working at iCan Benefit full-time for more than a year

    Pros

They do pay a 500 salary weekly and pay for up to 500 of your licensing fees for other states. You also receive commissions and writing bonuses.

    Cons

Unfortunatley you sell insurance plans that really are not even close to major medical plans and are not at all what they seem while at the same time being required to make mini med policies sound just as good if not better than major medical. An ethical agents true nightmare.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Micro management and requiring agents to basically lie in certain scenerios is not the way to build a strong team.

I have been working at iCan Benefit

    Pros

    - The office is beautiful
    - The atmosphere is always positive
    - Employees are treated with respect
    - The work is always rewarding
    - The pay and benefits are competitive
    - They're always looking to grow and try new things

    Cons

    - At times there are long, frequent meetings that negatively affect productivity. The time spent discussing what needs to be done often interferes with actually getting it done, which results in another meeting. It's cyclical.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I always feel like my opinion is valued at iCan Benefit. My advice to management would be to empower employees with the personal responsibility to stay on task without the need for so many follow-up meetings that occasionally impede progress, rather than foster it.
