Ravi Malhotra
Former Employee – worked at iCast part-time for less than a year
Pros – iCAST allows for great independence in individual work. The managers are encouraging but also push you to deliver. There are all kinds of projects going on at any given time, so the opportunity to tackle new challenges is always there.
Cons – As a not-for-profit, the pay is not all that great. Reliance on grants is a difficult position to be in. However, the work done is exceptional, so there are plenty of opportunities for partnerships. Also, sometimes it seems projects are undertaken simply for the sake of it. It's understandable that the company needs to put out as much work as possible, since future work relies on getting noticed, however there could be more strategic direction in this endeavor.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep doing great work and having a great attitude about it. Try to focus on projects that can be done more in-depth, but also that offer great rewards upon completion.
