I have been working at iCore Networks full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The job challenges are always present, but they accelerate my career quickly with all of the on-the-job experience I get. I get to travel to multiple markets and learn the trends, competitors and opportunities in each of them.

    Cons

It's easy to work 50-60 hour weeks when you're dedicated to getting the job done.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep the culture alive as you grow and expand to other markets

I have been working at iCore Networks full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

I loved the work environment. For me it is important to work with a management team and co-workers who are willing to work together to maximize output and really get work done, I found those people at iCore.

    Cons

I didn't want to work at iCore long term, so I left. It is a great company to work for for a few years but the upward mobility isn't what it should be. I guess the managers they have are so good why change a bad thing when it works. Just wasn't a good long term career option for me.

I have been working at iCore Networks full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The company is rapidly expanding which means there's plenty of opportunity for growth. Extremely fast paced, but you can gain invaluable experience early in your career.

The pay is good for the region. Raises/promotions are fairly given based on merit.

The most enjoyable part of the job is gaining lots of responsibility that most companies will not give to younger employees.

    Cons

rapid moving environment, last minute deadlines

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

try to manage tight deadlines better

I worked at iCore Networks full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

-Young, hip culture. iCore tends to hire recent grads as they tend to be more eager, willing and hard working. CEO likes to use slang terminology. Music blasting after 4PM in the Sales Dept.
-Free breakfast Wednesdays during All-hands meeting with the entire company
-Reward and recognition. iCore awards top performers with plaques, fancy dinners, tropical getaways, and sometimes monetary compensation.
-Company/team events. Holiday party, summer outing, in-office happy hours, monthly close-out pizza and beer.
-Occasional sporting event tickets are up for grabs if Sales doesn't need them
-Rapidly expanding offices in other major cities, opportunity to relocate if you're good enough
    -Onboarding/training process is comparable.
    -Hire generally above average-looking employees

    Cons

-Recruitment process is 3 interviews. Initial, meeting with director, day in the field, and meeting with CEO or President.
-13-14 hour work days are normal/daily. Work-life balance is nearly non-existent.
-Starting base pay is very, very low. Even after negotiations, a $5000 increase ONLY after 6 months performance review.
-"Coordinators" are basically personal assistants to the directors.
-Two weeks PTO (vacation, sick, family leave).
-Although high-energy, environment is always in an "emergency" state. MUST pick up phone on the first ring, MUST respond to e-mails right away, MUST come back to office immediately at the director's beck and call.
-Sales Director pins subordinates against each other. Encouraging aggressive, hostile working circumstances. Almost too competitive. Many instances of crying in the office.
-Sales team promises this and that to the client, but unable to deliver due to lack of technical skills/understaffed by the engineer team.
-Sales team is the almighty. Anything goes for them.
-A lot of office gossip and inter-office dating, hooking up.
    -Stressful, stressful STRESSFUL.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Nothing left to say.

    Good riddance!

    Fast-Paced Rewarding Place to Work

I have been working at iCore Networks full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

High-energy, fast paced, opportunities to learn and grow with the company. There is a focus on becoming better every day, and growing the company. If you work hard and perform at or above expectations, promotions and salary increases are yours for the taking.

    Cons

Very busy place to work. You start early and leave late, but in the corporate world, that's the norm. You aren't going to "make it" by working 6 hours a day. This place is for the serious employee only. As they say, if you want a career, this is the place for you. If you just want a job, you won't last/make it. Due to it's fast growth, some things fall through the cracks, but they are aware of that and are constantly working to improve/fix/get better.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More structure/controls/processes in place to better control/manage the phenomenal growth of the company.

I worked at iCore Networks full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Lots of smart, driven young people to work with
Company culture encourages innovation and achievement
Lots of opportunities of learning and Promotion
Company often hires people with little experience, giving young professionals a good way to start their career

    Cons

Company culture promotes 0 work life balance--people are literally berated and bad-mouthed for not working (most often unpaid) overtime
Management makes promises which are never kept
Innocent people are scapegoated for the bad decisions of management
No independent HR system to speak of
Little to no training for assigned tasks
Company operates on chronic under-staffing in all departments
Independent thought on all but a very narrow range of issues is discouraged
Company asks its employees to write (fake) reviews on Glassdoor
    People are treated as disposable
Promotions are handed out based on dire need and not on necessarily on merit (this one is on and off)
Problems are only dealt with after they arise, little or no pre-planning is made
Lack of enough employees causes constant atmosphere of emergency
Lack of training, enough people, and guidelines causes major stress for operations (project management, customer service, engineering, and field techs)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do what you mean, mean what you say. Don't lie to employees and promise them raises and bonuses that are never given. Don't tell your employees to write flowing reviews on this website. Treat your employees like assets and not disposable commodities. Invest in training. Hire enough people to allow your team a modicum of work-life balance.

I have been working at iCore Networks full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

iCore is diverse with employees of all types of characters which forms an interesting experience within the company. Everyone is willing to help one another and share ideas or knowledge that strengthens the company as a whole. In my time here, I've grown so much with iCore not just personally, but professionally. They provide an endless amount informational resources and training. Everyday there's something new to gain!

    Cons

The company undergoes constant changes rather quickly, but only because the company itself is always growing and expanding. Although it may be hard for others to adapt and adjust to the growing pains, I actually enjoy them and take it on as a challenge and learning experience.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Maintain strong communication between departments and relationships. However, I don't see this much as a problem as each department has daily meetings and the company as a whole has a weekly meeting to ensure employee and department awareness, changes, and events. It's great!

I worked at iCore Networks full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Breakfasts on wednesdays, high energy, young crowd, fast paced, team environment.

    Cons

Terrible hours, harassing managers, sales-driven environment, lies and deceit, manipulations and constant one off's, Ridiculous expectations, mad-man for a CEO, extremely high turnover, yelling and screaming, people constantly crying, no processes or policies, can't keep an HR Director because it is the company is run so immorally and unethically.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get your act together and consider changing a few things, for starters, treat your employees with respect, understand they have and need lives of their own outside of work, realize turnover is not healthy, it is because your company has serious problems. You have good people, take care of them, treat them fairly and equally, and consider taking advice from people who have ideas about how to make this company function better.

    Pros

There are no Pro's ... They have a well deserved bad reputation in the industry.

    Cons

There high pressure sales team turns most companies off and there service is terrible. They treat their employees like dogs and the CEO is extremely arrargont and has forgotten where he came from.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Come back down to earth, treat people well and do be arrogant (Steve Canton). I'm sure you are well aware of your awlful reputation in the industry with high pressure sales and poor service.
