Ok to start with, but not for long term options

    Senior Software Engineer (Former Employee)

ProsWould get to learn a lot
Work load would be more but would get more opportunities for learning

ConsVery stingy price cuts in place, specially after the takeover. In Patni it felt that we were a part of a big company. iGate has a feel of a small company

Advice to Senior ManagementPut more attention to paying salaries to your employees, the quality of work will increase and attrition rate would decrease

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

My experience in iGATE has been very good. If you are one of the top consultants, they surely make you feel noticed.

    Associate Consultant (Current Employee)

ProsiGATE is a good place for beginners and less experienced people to groom themselves as the training is more on the job and creates good learning environment for quick learners. The work life balance is good and need to improve compensation.

ConsCompensation offered is below par on the industry standards which is a reason why iGATE attracts few top talents and only when the position requires

A very good service based Company with a lot less learning opportunities

Technical Lead (Current Employee) Los Angeles, CA

ProsGood place to work to learn things as a fresher and onsite opportunities are relatively better

ConsPoor salary and technology training and other employee benefits are not up to the basic level itself.

Advice to Senior ManagementRespecting the employees should be one of the values of the company

Good for freshers worst for laterals ( 3+ years ).better go with other offers you have.

    Anonymous (Former Employee)

ProsIf you are fresher then there is lots of opportunity to learn because you can work 10 to 12 hours daily. Also there are online , class room based training programmes available yo help mostly freshers. Only work and no play.

ConsHere self declared genius management think that 3 freshers are more intelligent than a 7+ years lead and senior software engineer( 2+ years) can replace the lead.if you are joining as a lead then better start looking for other options. It's totally depends on your luck, if you are lucky then you will get good projects. If you are knowledgeable and ready to be managers puppet then there may be some hope for you. Even on notice period they would try to force you to work on weekends. Don't expect credit for your hard work. As per growth it's very less compared to market.

Advice to Senior ManagementNo advice because they are the main issue.

Poor benefits. Company with no direction

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsHealth insurance is good. Can't think if anything else. Depending on which team you are, people are good too.

ConsPretty much everything. Bad compensation, no benefits. Lots of politics and egoistic managers, no mgmt direction.

Work environment is acceptable but no training has been done

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsThey maintain strong relationships with their clients which allows for a better working environment when you are on a project.

ConsThe HR and lower level management are not properly trained in in-boarding processes or out-boarding processes making both steps extremely frustrating and time consuming. There was no formal training or coaching on how to use the systems that were required for pay and benefits.
