  6.

Worst practitioners in the tech industry

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    I worked at iGATE

    Pros

In the US they have a very nicely priced healthcare plan

    Cons

They are contractors but they do not look after the best interest of the company that contracted them. What they look after is how to increase their revenue and will sacrifice work efficiency at the expense of the client. The so-called professionals that they field from outside of the US are sub par at best. Quality of work is consistently sub standard. Offshore resources are mostly new graduates and are learning on the job at the expense of the client. As a professional for many years, it was an embarassment to be associated with this company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Review your projects much more closely. Do not simply rely on the paperwork that you are given. Conduct impromptu on-site audits.

    I worked at iGATE

    Pros

They maintain strong relationships with their clients which allows for a better working environment when you are on a project.

    Cons

The HR and lower level management are not properly trained in in-boarding processes or out-boarding processes making both steps extremely frustrating and time consuming. There was no formal training or coaching on how to use the systems that were required for pay and benefits.

I have been working at iGATE full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

iGATE is a good place for beginners and less experienced people to groom themselves as the training is more on the job and creates good learning environment for quick learners. The work life balance is good and need to improve compensation.

    Cons

Compensation offered is below par on the industry standards which is a reason why iGATE attracts few top talents and only when the position requires
