Not many negative things to say about working here. Working part-time, it's hard to move up. Competitive sales environment can be intimidating
Advice to Senior Management
You guys are doing a great job. You really represent the ideology of the brand and inspire your employees. Keep it up!
Pros
Product, and staff were great
Cons
Not a lot of room for advancement.
Advice to Senior Management
Take a good look at the upper management in your specialty shops. Some of your best employees are not in the best roll.
Pros
Good discount if you like the product. Casual dress code in corporate office. Work/Life balance when it comes down to it they give 5 weeks vacation during the year.
Cons
They spend wastefully on out of office meetings and parties. And then to compensate their overspending they lay off people who care about the company and keep it running well so that the upper management can continue to receive bonuses and yearly raises. I do not want to say it but have seen it so many times there.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep an eye on people working overtime who play around online during the day so that they can look good my staying late and getting their real work done then and getting paid OT for it.
Pros
Small, growing, creative business with potential
Cons
Work space, hours, politics, technology
Advice to Senior Management
Communicate
Pros
The discount, the merchandise, and it's kate spade!! It's a great place to list on your resume because of the type of customer service they teach you to provide.
Cons
There are not a lot of opportunities for advancement. The stores are small staffed and most managers and assistant managers like their jobs.
Advice to Senior Management
Management communicates well with employees, keep the line always open,
Pros
High energy, fun atmosphere. Encourages new ideas.
Cons
If you don't look like a model and fall between the age of 21-35, you just don't fit, no matter your skills and talents. Way too much focus is placed on looks, attire and personal style. It's as if they want their retail environments to look like a slick magazine ad.
Advice to Senior Management
Real, talented, and smart employees are not paper dolls. Not everyone is born with perfect skin and shiny hair and teeth, instead, have a brain, lots of imagination and drive!
Pros
Great pay compared to similiar companies and positions. $25 new hire shoe was fantastic incentive, along with great holiday contests
Cons
They closed many stores with little to no notice to employees. District manager did not know what was going on at any moment.
Advice to Senior Management
Get new district managers, keep stores open to increase consumer confidence about your product.
Pros
Great product , great management, their is a great work / life balence i never feel stressed out, i am always happy to go to work and it is just a fun, sweet company to work for.
Cons
slow times in economic hardships reflects in our business for a while people were scared to buy, plus i hate returning internet return it is negative against the person taking the return and the store it should not be a reflection of our business as if we had this person in the store she may have found an item she was satisfied with
Advice to Senior Management
sometimes allocations sends us replenishments of things we are not selling and not enough of what we are
