    Pros

    Extremely flexible regarding scheduling. This company was very accommodating regarding working around my schedule. The company recognizes that its employees have obligations outside of work.

    Cons

    The base pay for leasing consultants is laughable. The commissions can take 4 months from the day you close a deal to the day you get paid on it. That period of time is a difficult financial situation to be in. Moreover, when you are finally paid on those deals you manage to close, they are merely "advancing" the commission. This uncertainty makes for precarious financial planning.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pay your people a living wage so they can consentrate on getting their work done, instead of looking for additional work to make ends meet.

    Pros

    Can make your own schedule

    Cons

    No benefits, no promise of employment;
    Very Low salary;
    Oppressive management and total lack of any substantive training;
    Training depends on other employees who may tell you different things;
    Total disregard for meaning of independent contractor versus employee

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop trying to squeeze money out of a temp employee system and instead give people a real job and treat them like employees when that is what they are under the IRS rules definition.

    Pros

    IT system saves time, connection to clients like AT&T and Sprint creates organized project opportunities from large companies that set up a process.

    Cons

    Unqualified people in management. 90% of managers are self-serving and incompetent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    It is time to clean house. Fire selfish managers and start over. Don't promote people who can't perform and have a high error rate. Don't promote people who don't care about customer service or the client's deadlines or process.

    I worked at md7 full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    The only thing you can come in early to beat traffic.

    Cons

    Constant micro management, oppressive tactics that team leads use to get numbers are completely unacceptable. Poor feedback on progress, a workplace culture exists that its your fault if something goes wrong. No appreciation of work. The only people that have job security are the management the rest are expendable. High turnover and promotions are based on who they like not performance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop the favoritism. Get some professional team leads that are there to help rather than just doing what is necessary to make others look bad to keep their jobs.

    Pros

    There are some hidden gems in management, especially upper management. If you get in with the right people and perform well, there is potential to make a long-term career here.

    Cons

    Some positions require significant time investment before the pay catches up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop making people feel as if they are perpetually attempting to negotiate for a raise.

    Pros

    Smart nice people in low positions. I hear Md7 has great benefits if you ever make it past contractor. They take on their staff in contract positions and make them work like employees but don't offer benefits. I hear they don't give benefits until months after you are hired.

    Cons

    One token minority. Management is at each other's throats or maybe so removed they don't know how awful people are treated. Underpay and overwork contractors without OT. The computers shut down a lot in the middle of projects. They don't tell people what is going on and then fire people without warning.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Treat contractors like people and employees - pay OT. Don't keep all the girls in low jobs and all the bosses white guys. Hire more than one person of color.

    Current Contractor - File Auditor in San Diego, CA

    I have been working at md7 as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

    As a temporary contractor fresh out of college I find the pay very satisfying and the work atmosphere is pleasant. The work is challenging and absorbing enough for you to lose yourself for hours, coffee is provided on honor code, and the management is cordial and friendly. The casual work dress code means that you will not have to initially max out expenses for professional dress. This company is young, it is stimulating that the people who designed the programs are still there on the floor everyday.

    Cons

    The work can be dauntingly challenging initially, before you make it around the learning curve.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    You do a good job. It is obvious that management is currently working on how to further organize the work flow. A database of approved jurisdictions which would populate cells of the templates will probably appear in due time, with somebody appointed to have QC approved templates processed into the currently non-existent jurisdictional database, not sure it would be cost-effective to have updating the database part of the standard procedure for all file auditors, probably better to concentrate the task to several individuals.
