    Strange experience

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsNice office and fun place to work.

ConsIt is best that one has an outspoken personality, verbal and willing to engage and schmooze with management. Probably a good place for engineers who are willing to listen to management and their idosyncratic decisions, fresh graduates (not for old experienced hands). Decisions can be very political and personal. Management has pets. Flat structure. Company not sure if they want to be a cool startup or an established company.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

Great place to learn video & mobile tech

Senior Software Engineer (Former Employee) Singapore (Singapore)

    ProsStartuppy environment, cutting edge technology

ConsLate on the mobile B2C apps bandwagon. What Instagram had in 2010-11, Muvee had in 2006-7 but completely failed to sell it.

Very friendly colleagues and fun environment

Business Intelligent Intern (Former Employee) Bugis (Singapore)

Pros- Colleagues are very friendly and helpful. It's a small company so you get to know pretty much everyone
    - Fun environment
    - Your work directly contributes to the business
    - The company is very flexible in terms of hours and employees maintain a really good work-life balance (my boss can work from home to support his wife in taking care of the children)

Cons- Responsibility of interns is fairly simple so there might not be a lot of room for learning

    Awesome

    Senior Software Engineer (Former Employee)

ProsGoogle like work culture. Not much restriction. Company understand you and flexible as per your need. Will help you to groom the way you want.

ConsSmall product base company but still they are trying there level best to give to employee. I don't have much to say as cons as everything is at best there. No hard feeling for them

Good place to start, No advancement options though.

    Engineer (Current Employee)

ProsIt is certainly where realities and fundamentals are more valued and feedback is considered honestly, that's where you are heard and your views are discussed.

ConsNot much beyond a single product, all toiling towards it while creativity has bitten to dust. Definitely not a hot and happening place, being a veteran in the field, legacy problems haunt it lot than finding a way out.

Advice to Senior ManagementAs with many companies, management has been late to realize that businesses go through cycles. Prudence in decision making and spending the money just and right is what is needed all through the life of a business.

Except the top management, middle managers are shallow and never bother to take up the charge, probably the very reason that they knew there is no progress further up.

A hardworking company threatened to be made irrelevant unless it realizes the importance of design.

    Nobody (Current Employee) Singapore (Singapore)

ProsA diverse place with people from many different cultures and backgrounds.
Flexible and open channel to management. Some members of the management
are genuinely nice people. Easy to gain recognition for a job well-done.
Many bright and hardworking employees make it a competent company.

ConsFor a consumer software company, muvee is still very much driven by
an engineering mindset. The emphasis on both product and visual design
is also lacking. At one point in time, muvee's entire creative department
was either fired or left the company. It has also continuously failed to hire
great designers in its 7 years of operation.

Advice to Senior Managementmuvee needs to hire more thought leaders and senior visual designers.
muvee also needs to place a designer on the management team so
that design has a voice in the entire product cycle. muvee also needs to
seek out positive criticisms from end users instead of continuously trumpet
    only praises.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
