I worked at ngmoco full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Fun and nice people. Flexible and corporative environment. Employees were top priority of the company.

    Cons

Working load and schedule was quite demanding even after the acquisition by a large company. Change of directions constantly happened, which made us defocused.

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at ngmoco full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

There was some interesting cross-platform work being explored when I worked there. The material was challenging and the engineers were committed, passionate, and a pleasure to work with.

    Cons

Internal competition and politicking were imported by hiring from some of the worst boiler-rooms in gaming. Management was not selected for any kind of technical savvy, leading to people with no experience in an area having substantial power to evaluate the quality of work being done. Salary was sub-par, even for gaming, which lags substantially behind other software areas. The usual dreadful treatment of women and minorities, which isn't even surprising out of a gaming company any more.

    Cons

Management's only interest is in turning a profit

I have been working at ngmoco full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good work -life balance, kind and warm people they make this company, some good fringe benefits like free lunch and breakfast, stocked drinks and snacks, shuttle and game room

    Cons

.the people are very nice but this i kind of in general a lot of them not experienced with their jobs or dont know what their jobs actually consist of or even who their managers are [leadership's fault not theirs]

    .weak management and inexperienced leadership

.very reactive environment, almost like chickens with heads cut off, not enough planning.

.can't tell if we are still a start up or a world class company, wants to have structured environment with lots of bureaucracy but wants teams to be agile, so is contradicting

.bad/lack of sensible hiring and promotion process so lots of incompetent people in influential positions (or lack of experience).

.product quality not consistent and no cohesion.

.not very aware of the customers

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

adequate planning is very important, and superstars want to work under competent leadership so examine yourself and then the people you put in position to lead others and this company

Lax, one doesn't have to put in much effort to hang onto a job. Fun place to hang out; good people.

    Cons

Unprofessional; delusional vision and planning; little respect to what customers want.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

The people are great. So many smart people! It is pretty amazing to see how many people have been recruited and how many cool things people are working on.

    Cons

It's very busy here. It's important to keep focus. There's a lot to be distracted by if I don't just focus on my work. It's a startup, which isn't for everyone.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep growing and going.

I have been working at ngmoco

    Pros

ngmoco still has the aura of a motivated startup. I feel like the clear vision and future of the company and employees are still the top priorities at the company.

    Cons

organizationally, ngmoco is still a bit like the wild west; while hard work and great ideas are encouraged change is constant and there is still a fair bit of internal competition.

I have been working at ngmoco

    Pros

The caliber of people is insanely high, and the impact that each individual has on the business and with users is palpable.

    Cons

We recognize that we are in a very competitive market, where the rate of innovation is critical to being number one in the space... this occasionally requires a heavy emotional and time commitment.

I have been working at ngmoco

    Pros

A company that has a definite vision and plan to dominate the mobile space, and it is a plan that I believe in.

    Cons

Our aggressive goals often end up equaling long hours. The company does acknowledge this, and recognizes people for their contributions.
