I worked at xpedx full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Decent equipment, a few stand out employees/managers. Liked the benefits.

    Cons

Change in management during transitional stages. Communication and or awareness not as keen as would be needed during rapid expansion. Not enough key players with the experience to calm ripples rapid expansion would cause.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

All companies want the best employees, few offer the wages that attracts or retains the best

I worked at xpedx full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

The office culture was very laid back everyone was willing to help each other to get the job done. I made many very good friends with my co-workers. Management was well aware of the balance between work life and home life and were very flexable if need be.

    Cons

The only con for me was being laid off due to a merger and restructuring.

    Pros

I had a fantastic manager while I was at xpedx...he really helped me grow as a sales rep and look for new opportunities

    Cons

The sales tracking system was extremely cumbersome

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at xpedx full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

For a time, there was a group pushing boundaries and innovating in the distribution space. This is rare for a company of this size. Compensation was good and potential for promotion as fine as long as one is willing to relocate as needed.

    Cons

A company this large can have a large amount of inefficiencies. Individuals can more easily get lost in the system and push off the responsibilities of their failures onto others. Decision making and especially on-boarding new employees can take a very long time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the voices of the employees at ground level. Learn from their experiences.

I have been working at xpedx full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

work-life balance, minimum workload and flexible work hours

    Cons

Been hired for 4.5 months and have 0 direction from management team on what my role is supposed to be. The total hours of work I have done is probably less than a week. Leaders spend a lot of time talking but not executing. Company is too big that the management team doesn't know what employees do.

the merger was good but also a complete disaster. both companies rushed into the merger and now trying to figure out the new direction and new teams.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Understand what employees actually do. Consider having training manuals if applicable.
