    I worked at xwave

    Pros

people & events - some of the friendliest people you'll ever work with, and frequent events are fun too.
work/life balance - everyone leaves right after 7.5 hours of work and any extra is overtime
incentive plan- can't complain being a part of a company that makes yearly goals, which means a decent bonus

    Cons

compensation - the interviewer hinted that i might be a little over qualified for the position i had at xwave, but yet when the offer came, the basic offer was $7k below the bottom of the salary range described to be at the interview
lack of support - for sw development, i was provided 5+ year old used pentium 4 desktop, probably shipped from bell aliant head office after a customer service rep quit
lack of quality - the developers are purely coders. no req/feature specs, design docs or code reviews, with developer to tester ratio at about 15:1. they do have a bug tracking tool, which comes quite handy

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

don't know too much about the leadership, but xwave does seem to at least break even, if not profitable, after all these years so hats off to you folks!

    I worked at xwave

    Pros

Very bright and friendly people, excellent office facilities, good career coaching program. Opportunities to work on large projects for major clients on the East Coast

    Cons

    - Travel policy not comparable to other consulting organizations.
    - Obvious lack of senior leadership and clarity around strategic direction.
    - Seriously dysfunctional relationship with parent company, Bell Aliant (Bell).
    - Lack of clarity around relationship with CGI (also owned by Bell).
    - Ongoing infighting and constant playing of "musical chairs" among members of senior leadership team.
    - Lack of interest in keeping good accounts.
    - Tendency to ignore or give away profitable business opportunities to competitors in order to meet
strategic goals of parent company, Bell Aliant.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
