    I worked at yoox.com full-time

    Pros

There is a relatively young environment, I would say about 30 years old. There is a casual clothing dressing code.

    Cons

Inept middle management Silos structure No recreation areas Rude human resources Individualism is pervasive

    Advice to Management

To have been in this company since the beginning... 15 years! It's time to see something else, you are not getting any smarter doing the same job for the same company...

    Pros

Great team, plenty of energy and innovative projects rolling all the time. Leader in the ecommerce fashion industry. Pretty good work life balance.

    Cons

The location in terms of city is not worthy of a big company as Yoox. Because of this it is difficult to find and keep talented people who enjoy living in an metropole. The salary is not always set on objective goals. Because of this there is a huge discrepancy through the same roles. Hr really needs to improve at this.

    I worked at yoox.com full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very good training ground to make experience Some interesting people to work with Some nice tech to work with Possiblity of growth is better respect to other companies in italy

    Cons

It all depends with whom you work with it all can change: Your flexible hours, your carreer growth, your salary Some people fight for power and harm the job and people Some managers think being a manager is just go to meetings, they have no clue of the basics of managing HR is not able to go past the "italian" mentality of treating employees

    Advice to Management

If you want to be really innovative, the first step would be to observe and listen to people. Understand that poeple that work for you are needed by you as much as people need the company. You should should prevent power battles and recognize value where it really is.

    Pros

YOOX It's a huge company that still feels like a young start-up. Has great chances to keep growing in the future. Management isn't always organized but that can be said for a lot of IT companies, the real difference is the working environment: in Bologna Zola Pedrosa really hard work is balanced with flexible hours, great sense of community and it's truly a pleasure to work in teams. Consultants are treated like colleagues, everybody's opinion is evaluated and there's a great opportunity to learn from skilled, passionate web dev gurus. I've left for a better offer but it really was a hard decision: I really enjoyed my time in YOOX.

    Cons

Lack of economical reward on the long term, you usually keep your initial salary. Like other big companies there's a lot of corporate software to deal with, some security and some paperwork. The first week usually goes just for learning your way around. Takes a lot of time to install/learn the framework.

    Advice to Management

    1) Simplify the mandatory software installation / configuration (3 days to set-up the working environment doesn't leave a good intial impression on the company) 2) Smart people are leaving! Invest on the talents you *already have* with timed salary increases and benefits. 3) Build/reserve residencies for consultants close to the office: consultancy agencies often can't find apartments close by and people is forced to commute for hours. Offering a YOOX residence would be smart, and profitable.
