Job Title: Data Center and Operations EngineerWork with the CaaS network and data center engineers to design the infrastructure for CaaS operations with the objective of 99.999% uptimeInstall, configure and maintain CaaS production server infrastructure and ININ solutions in data centers and remote customer sitesMaintain application and server environment with OS and third party service packsProactively monitor system environment and identify potential issuesReview prospect architectures for complianceOwn and resolve support issues from anywhere within deployed solutionAct as a single point of contact for ININ partners and customers when dealing with operations based issuesFacilitate and coordinate communication efforts between CaaS, PSO and customersBe a part of on call after hours rotation for CaaS operations team
The Data Center and Operations Engineer is responsible for working as part of a team that design, build, document and maintain the overall network and data center architecture that we use to deliver our Communication as a Service (CaaS) products. Qualified candidates will have experience installing, configuring and maintaining Windows 2008 servers, Cisco network infrastructure and virtual server environments. Engineer(s) will participate in the overall customer implementation, support and operations phases. This includes serving as a liaison between CaaS operations, the customer and the Professional Services Organization (PSO) during any given customer implementation effort. The engineer will be responsible for production monitoring of applications and equipment as well as issue resolution for reported problems.
Skills and RequirementsBS in Computer Science, related field or equivalent work experienceExcellent knowledge of Windows 2008 server operating systems, MCITP: Server/Administrator certification is preferredAt least 5 years experience in systems administration or engineering roleExperience with virtual server configuration a plus, preferably Microsoft’s Hyper-VExcellent communication, customer service and documentation skillsNetwork and/or data center experience in a 24x7 production environment a plusExperience with SIP, VoIP, MPLS or certifications like CCNA/CCNP will be a big plusAbility to work independently in a self-directed manner and collaboratively as a team leader or member; ability to create and implement detailed action plansEnglish communications skills required
