The Human Resources Generalist partners with the Human Resources Manager, to develop and implement strategic and tactical plans for PolyOne's human resources services, policies, and programs. This position guides decision making processes and positively impacts the results of the organization by recruiting, retaining, developing and rewarding the industrys best talent in a manner that is cost-efficient and compliant. This position completes multiple and/or large projects to lead the development, enhancement, and innovation of PolyOnes Human Resources department. The Human Resources

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works with the Director, Human Resources and respective client groups to design organization structure, business process and systems that support their strategic goals.

  • Works to create a high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.

  • Guides managers in areas such as benefits, compensation, training, recruiting, workforce planning, conflict management, performance management, etc.

  • Ensures that all policies and procedures are in compliance with all federal, state and local regulations and are consistently administered.

  • Responsible for operational human resource issues including job description development, hiring, retention, succession planning, legal compliance, termination reviews, transfers and communications.

  • Oversees human resources responsibility for all assigned business unit teams and shared service functions.

  • Implements short and long terms plans to ensure performance and innovation within PolyOnes human resources department.

  • Proactively suggests and promotes processes that have positive return on investment and deliver value to internal and external customers.

  • Monitors key metrics (i.e. turnover, attendance, etc) to assist the location and/or functional area in effectively managing their workforce to maximize productivity and overall effectiveness.

  • Demonstrates solid business acumen and ability to make HR decisions that ensure a positive impact on the bottom line.

  • Creates a motivational environment of accountability.

  • Fosters teamwork at all levels and cross-functionally.

  • Acts as a catalyst for change with the ability to positively influence others to make difficult decisions.

  • Performs other projects as required by the business, functional unit and/or HR organization.


  • Required Qualifications

    Knowledge/Education/Certifications

  • Bachelors degree in related field is required.

  • Masters degree in related field is preferred.

  • Bilingual- Spanish required.

  • Proven experience in an HR environment; effective in developing and executing best in class human resource strategies to include driving business decisions, client group support, training and development, and compliance initiatives.

  • Experienced in coaching and developing team members.

  • Strong collaboration skills with other HR functions as well as the business.

  • Strong internal customer orientation and customer centricity.

  • Demonstrated process improvement and project management skills.

  • Strong oral and written communication and analytical skills.

  • Proven negotiating and administrative skills.

  • Strong multi tasking skills with ability to consistently prioritize and address key issues and initiatives.


  • Experience

  • 3-5+ years of related experience required specific to the position.


  • Physical/Environmental Demands

    Scope

  • This position covers client groups and processes within PolyOne.

  • This position may require travel.

  • Global Responsibility for $200 million business.
