Expand Established Business • Analyze and evaluate design strategies around leading-edge materials and technology • Approach innovative solution through technical design. • Understand SDAs ID strategic values and implement accordingly. • Actively develop and articulate design concepts, ideas, and directions. • Support team in visioning the future of SDA by sensing ID and technology trends. • Ensure end product development results meet market demand, technical specifications and requirements. • Manage project related tasks such as vendor liaison, schedule tracking, and client interaction. • Guide team to meet project schedules and milestones. New Business Exploration • Explore new advanced design concepts and business models • Build strong relationship with new platform and service focused departments within Samsung for advanced solutions • Provide in-depth insights with the ability to foresee the rising trends to establish innovative leadership • Collaborate with Research, Marketing, Engineering, and other departments for successful development of a new business opportunity • Use regional expertise and technology specific knowledge to enhance design capacity. • Conduct market sensing and analysis. Collaboration • Strengthen cross-disciplinary design developmental capacity. • Mentor and lead junior and senior-level designers to ensure highest level of deliverables. • Develop internal relationships with Corporate Design, R&D, Product Planning, Marketing and Sales to support SDA-initiated projects. • Develop external relationships with experts and institutions to widen the teams capability. • Be proactive in identifying and developing processes to reflect changes. Necessary Skills /Attributes • Passion for innovative design solution in emerging markets. • 6+ years of industry experience (Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred). • Proven portfolio for innovative leadership and project management. • Strong management skills with mentoring abilities. • Solid technical proficiency (3D CAD, 2&3D design visualization, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, etc.). • Constant curiosity and eagerness to learn about design, technology, socio-cultural trends, and human behaviors beyond project works. • Effective project management, communication, and teamwork skills. • International experience preferred. • Must be able to travel internationally.
