Olympic College is continuously recruiting for a Computer Information Systems (CIS) Tutor position that may occur throughout the year for the T-205 Technology Tutorial Center. This position will be responsible for helping students develop digital literacy skills associated with the basic computer and internet use.

Examples of Duties:
Assist students in analyzing assignments and understanding class materials; Assist students in the development of basic computer literacy skills; Assist students in the development of basic, structured, programming skills; Assist students in the development of basic networking skills, including switching, routing and wireless networking technologies; Assist students in the understanding of the basics of database normalization techniques; Assist students in the development of, and the application of, knowledge and skills in implementing and maintaining the components of organizational security; Assist students in the development of knowledge and the application of skills in implementing and maintaining the components of a Local Area Network; Assist students in the understanding of the TCP/IP protocol suite and the International Organization for Standardizations (OSIs) Open Systems Interconnect (ISO) model for networking; Assist students in the understanding of the mathematics of computer systems, including the binary, octal, and hexadecimal numbering systems; Assist students in the understanding of logical and computational models for small and large computer systems and networks, including set theory, Venn Diagrams, propositional logic, truth tables, Boolean logic, switching circuits, gated circuits and dimensional analysis; Assist students in the understanding of the relationship between software and hardware logic; Assist students in clarifying critical thinking; Assist students in the development of effective study habits and skills; Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications:
College degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field OR be currently enrolled in a degree program leading up to a degree in one of these areas.Successful applicants will be able to:

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Must pass a criminal background records check. If you are hired, you will need to provide proof of identity and documentation of U.S. citizenship or appropriate authorization to work in this position as required by the Immigration Reform Control Act of 1986.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position requires punctual and regular attendance. This is in a typical office and/or classroom environment but may require the employee to move across campus to other buildings.

Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position.
