We have a Shipping Lead position available on our first shift in our state-of-the-art warehouse. This positions primary responsibility is to support the Shipping Supervisor in directing a team of shipping associates and drivers to ensure all outgoing orders are accurately processed and shipped in a timely manner.

Additional responsibilities include:

Provide work direction to warehouse employees. Provide direction to staff to maximize speed and accuracy of outbound shipments. Maximize productivity of team by coordinating with other warehouse leadership on workflow demands.

Communicate with carriers. Take inbound calls from carriers and schedule pick-ups. Proactively reach out to carriers to schedule additional pick-ups if needed. Ensure carriers are picking up correct product.

Oversee correct assembly of orders. Direct assembly of LTL (less than truck load) orders from product pull to loading including proper shipping documentation. Understand customer routing requirements and perform audits on outbound shipments to eliminate compliance charges. Research and resolve order discrepancies.

Coordinate with sales team on certain shipments. Identify and communicate effectively to multiple parties the status of urgent outbound shipments.

Perform administrative tasks. Collect Bills of Lading and deliver them to Customer Service department. Enter data into traffic management system (TMS).

Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

All qualifications are required unless otherwise noted:

High school diploma or equivalent experience.

At least three years of experience in LTL, TL (truck load), parcel, and international shipping

Previous experience with Connect Ship and/or other TMS systems.

Intermediate user of Microsoft Excel and Word.

Stand up fork-lift driving certification (stand up-reach truck & stand up-cherry picker).

Experience with a warehouse management system is preferred.

Previous lead experience in a warehouse environment is preferred.
