Serve as Patient Care Component (PCC) Clerk of the Health Information Management Department of the Choctaw Nation Hospital and Clinic in Talihina, Oklahoma. Enter information from the PCC utilizing the RPMS or EHR system for each visit. Define and code the purpose of visit. Perform data management. Perform corrections through the Coding Queue System. Perform other duties in the Health Information Management Department as needed or as assigned by the supervisor or by the director.
Must have at least six months experience in the Health Information Management department. Must have a working knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy, ICD-9-CM coding rules and typing skills with accuracy or be eligible to take, with passing grade, Medical Terminology and Medical Coding classes. Requires ability to communicate effectively with other departments and members of the Medical Staff. Tact, discretion, and persuasiveness are needed to obtain cooperation. Prior knowledge and experience with computers is preferred.
