Job Description
Coordinates physical security, fire prevention/protection, disaster management, and emergency response services to safeguard personnel, property, and facilities. Coordinates with civil law-enforcement and fire-fighting agencies. Provides security, fire prevention, and disaster preparedness awareness and training programs to employees. Responsible for oversight of plant protection operations, including employee and visitor entry and exit control (badge and access control system), vehicle and foot patrols of the facility, parking and traffic control, off-hour supplemental patrols for security violations, crime and security violation preliminary investigations, and emergency/critical incident response. Participates with the site team to assess the potential for workplace violence and recommends appropriate preventative/corrective actions. May be responsible for the oversight of fire prevention operations, including fire prevention inspections, pre-fire response planning, fire and hazardous material incident response, and fire equipment and systems testing. May conducts post-fire investigations. Reviews building construction/remodel design plans for compliance with applicable fire code laws.
Examples of Work
Coordinates fire insurance and ISO audits and resulting corrective actions. Coordinates the training, outfitting, and response of employee emergency teams. Responsible for the development of disaster management programs in accordance with government requirements and industry standards. Coordinates the performance of evacuation drills. Plans the development of emergency operations command facilities and trains employee team members on the incident command system. Assists with the development of organizational business continuity planning. Supervises the security officer and receptionist force responsible for enforcing and administering company and U.S. Government security requirements.
Qualifications
Equivalent Education Level Required - High school graduate with additional specialized training in physical security. College associate and/or bachelor degree desired/preferred.

Experience Required - Five years experience in physical security work and experience working with Department of Defense National Industrial Security Program and/or Intelligence Community. Demonstrated leadership qualities supervising a comparable group of people in a highly visible, important function involving extensive security and customer services.
Knowledge Required - Thorough knowledge of sound security principles for the protection of property and assets, risk management, emergency preparedness, emergency response, disaster recovery, business continuity and knowledge of the security requirements for handling and safeguarding national security information. Knowledge of basic leadership, management and supervisory principles. Must have excellent customer service skills and ability to handle difficult situations.

Security Clearance Required - Must be a U.S. Citizen eligible for a U.S.
Government security clearance. Must obtain and maintain a Top Secret level government security clearance after employment.

Be on call on a 24 hour x 7 days a week basis for any emergencies occurring at RAST facilities. Some travel required to support other AST locations.
