Job Requirements:

  • MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN TREE INDUSTRY
  • Must have experience climbing, pruning, removals
  • Must have a valid License, ability to obtain CA CDL (Class B)
  • Must provide a DMV record printout no more than 30 days old
  • Must be able to demonstrate basic skills during interview process
  • Must be able to work long hours
  • Legally authorized to work in the US
  • This position reports out of our Redwood City Yard.

    Position Summary:

    Foreman is an experienced tree climber that is responsible in leading and setting the example in all aspects of tree care. This position is a working foreman, but also works closely with management to help with very basic onboarding of new hires, primarily assist in training of new employees, and ensure region and company standards of safety are met.

    Qualifications:

    Must have valid CA driver’s license, commercial license highly preferred

    Certified in safety, first aid and CPR;

    Ability to effectively communicate with clients, management, and crewmembers.

    Certified Arborist highly preferred

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    Serves as an additional liaison between crewmembers and management

    Leads and directs their assigned crew members.

    Ensures all industry standards are maintained

    Interfaces with management, clients, and crewmembers so that jobs are completed on time and per company standards.

    Ensures a safe and efficient operation of the business

    Set up and direct a safe job site

    Ensure all crew members are using PPE

    Communication with clients

    Review and complete necessary paperwork such as work orders and timecards

    Manage equipment and inventory

    Report equipment repairs and needed inventory

    Skills & Abilities:

    Attention to detail is critical to maintain high quality of care.

    Ability to work independently and within a team environment

    Comprehensive knowledge in personal gear use, tree climbing, aerial lift operation, basic arboricultural understanding, pruning, cabling and bracing

    Knowledge of tree terminology & identification, pest & disease identification and planting & staking

    Demonstrated knowledge of proper pruning (per ANSI A300), climbing skills & climbing knots (per ANSI Z133.1)

    Communication skills necessary in order to complete paperwork and communicate with clients & production managers

    Physical Demands:

    The physical demands described here must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    Physical demands are considerable and involve regularly pruning, removing, cabling and bracing, inspecting and planting trees. 

    The working conditions can be dangerous using rope and saddle to climb trees to heights which could exceed 100 feet.
