Mertado is in the process of creating a unique and compelling Editorial Merchandising experience in the Home & Kitchen Category. We seek a Managing Editor to join our highly dynamic and motivated team to drive this initiative integrating content, e-commerce and social interaction. The Managing Editor will be one of Mertado’s first employees with a chance to make a significant impact on both the company and the next generation of e-commerce solutions
As our editorial leader, you will be responsible for shaping and executing all aspects of the content strategy for Mertado’s social shopping application. This will include developing original content in the form of articles and videos, as well as acquiring and integrating syndicated third party content. You will be instrumental in ‘executive producing’ the overall look and feel of the user experience, working closely with the merchandising & design teams.
We are seeking an “athlete” who can lead customer-facing initiatives from strategy all the way to detailed in-market execution. As our Managing Editor, you will be a “player-coach”, first driving hands-on deliverables and then leading an editorial team that will drive and develop the most immersive Editorial Merchandising experience. You will have the ability to work in a small team, often tasked with wearing multiple hats and building new experiences entirely from scratch.
Prior experience should include a career spanning leading editorial roles in consumer publications in the Home & Kitchen category, including experience with online publications. We prefer candidates who are deeply familiar with multiple forms of content, ranging from text to video. The candidate should have deep knowledge and a strong point of view of merchandise and brands in the Home & Kitchen category. The candidate must have 5+ years editorial leadership experience at a major print or online publication.
