Responsibilities

Summary:

 

 Provide expert level Customer application support for Atmels capacitive Touch products.

 

 Lead the development and characterising of the next generation of capacitive touch screen products.

 

 To create and maintain software and hardware solutions in support of assigned customer projects

 

 Develop custom Embedded C code as required in support of Customers projects.

 

 To work closely with other Team Leaders and other Application team members locally and worldwide to ensure the timely and successful delivery of projects

 

 Participate in cross-functional teams in the development of new Products

 

 Keep updated with the latest developments in technology

Duties

 

 Provide a Technical interface to customers remotely and at their sites as required. Which will require European and international travel

 

 Participate in team design reviews as appropriate

 

 Facilitate schematic & BOM creation

 

 Provide the basis & some content for product documentation

 

 Undertake open-ended design projects based on customer input

 

 Ensure coherent & professional communications with customer peer groups

 

 Disseminate technical information & inputs from customers as appropriate

 

 Project task coordination and planning

 

 Provide timely status reports on projects to Team Leader

 

 Support existing products

 

 Support colleagues in other worldwide Application teams as required

 

 Assisting with manufacturability and usage issues

 

 Facilitate the sourcing of components

 

 Adhere to all prevalent company design rules (h/w & s/w) and QA guidelines

 

 Propose options for new product development resulting from customer feedback and requests

 

 To acquire in-depth knowledge of relevant Atmel products and their relative applications

 

 Assist Field Applications Engineers (FAEs) with customer enquiries

Mandatory Skills

Experience of firmware development in embedded C; Hardware design using 8 bit and/or 32 bit microcontrollers software development; electronic circuit design, Facilitate PCB layout, modification and prototype construction, Customer facing experience

Preferred Skills

 

 Hardware experience useful

 

 Familiarity with power supply design

 

 Team Leadship experience

 

 CAD familiarity (Altium, DXF, SVG)

 

 Display industry experience (LCD/OLED)

 

 EMC RFI experience useful

Education

BSc or BEng Hons Electronics (perhaps with Computer science)

Experience

Preferred eight years post grad experience for a more senior position
