Resume Writer (contract or full time) | About this Role

We are looking to hire Resume Writers for our downtown San Francisco and/or New York City offices. LiveCareer’s resume writing service delivers job-winning resumes to clients. Business is growing rapidly, and we need talented, energetic writers to join us. The Resume Writer will assist clients in presenting themselves in the most compelling way possible, bringing them closer to achieving their career goals.

Responsibilities

• Professional resume critiques, editing and writing resumes, and creating cover letters and other job search-related documents
• Write resumes customized by industry, career level, years of experience and specific qualifications and strengths
• Analyze a high volume of client resumes
• Identify keywords and phrasing strategies critical to resumes being selected by both hiring professionals and applicant screening systems
• Writing professional resume reviews pinpointing a resume’s strengths and weaknesses and how it can be improved
• Communicating directly with customers via telephone and e-mail in a collaborative manner
• Cooperating with other LiveCareer staff on expanding the Resume Services business
• Meeting strict deadlines/timelines without compromising quality, and producing within a 24-48 hour turnaround time
• Work with company’s proprietary resume-writing and review tool

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree
• A minimum of 2 years experience writing resumes including prior work writing resumes across a diverse client and industry base
• Demonstrated mastery of the craft of professional resume writing:
• Exceptional grammar, vocabulary and proofreading skills necessary for creating interview-winning resumes
• A dedication to accuracy and detail needed to create error-free documents
• Independent worker
• In-depth understanding of the employment market and how to evaluate, review, and write resume content to the requirements of employer’s openings
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to respond constructively to feedback and to make requested changes
• Effective and professional communication skills
• Self-driven, determined, proactive, results-oriented disposition with a clear focus on high quality documents and work product

Pluses

• Certified member of Professional Associate of Resume Writers and Career Coaches (PARWCC), Certified Professional Resume Writers (CPRW) or National Certified Resume Writers (NCRW) or similar organization
• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism or Marketing
• Expertise in industries such as healthcare, high tech, engineering, transportation and/or construction
• Client acquisition experience
