Scope of Role

Reporting directly to the Senior Director, Human Resources, Americas, the HR Director has responsibility for associates in the US (425), Brazil (17) and Mexico (6). The incumbent is responsible for leading efforts regarding development, performance management, associate relations, manager coaching, audit compliance and compensation. All tasks should be in alignment with the companys strategy and core HR priorities and programs.

The incumbent is also responsible, in partnership with the global HR program leaders, for the development and implementation of policies covering employment, associate relations, salary administration, benefits administration, safety, health, associate services, communication and retirement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Responsible for key talent and management development including consulting with the organizations leaders regarding team development and personal/professional development of associates.

· Drives core processes supporting performance management, merit reviews, associate surveys and talent management.

· Advise and partner with the business, including at the executive level as a business partner and change agent.

· Leads in developing best practices and implementing policies and processes as applicable.

· Manages day-to-day associate relations including problem solving, counseling, coaching.

· Directs recruiting and employment activities to ensure the timely placement of qualified associates.

· Manages key HR metrics (recruitment, development, retention, etc.)

· Leads the Associate Survey process including implementation of actions to improve employee engagement.

· Conducts research into HR programs, policies and employment law and recommend strategies, changes or innovations where appropriate.

· Supervises associate welfare plans such as retirement, leave of absences, disability benefits and other associate safety, health and wellness services.

· Properly execute corporate policies and HR programs ensuring quality, delivery and cost.

· Ensures compliance with employment-related laws. Represent, or aid in the representation of, the Company on related litigation.

· Champion the Danaher Business System (DBS). DBS is the organizational culture that encompasses continuous improvement and policy deployment of strategic initiatives

· Travel required up to 20-25" of time.

· Seasoned HR executive with a minimum of 10 years of management in an HR function in a highly technical commercial environment and supporting customer facing commercial functions of a large, global, Life Sciences organization.

· Prior experience with a geographically dispersed workforce, including remote managers and direct reports

· Excellent knowledge of all facets of US state and Federal employment legislation, particularly for California and Massachusetts

· Technical expertise in the areas of associate relations, staffing; development; compensation; HR administration; and working knowledge of payroll and payroll processes.

· Track record of accomplishments in managing Human Resources at a local operating company site in a global matrix reporting environment.

· It is essential that prospective candidates possess excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, and understand the implications their actions and the HR function will have on the organizational demands of a rapidly evolving company. Additional professional qualifications will include, but not be limited to:

· Proven ability to manage the staffing challenges associated within a commercial multi-site company.

· Strong mentoring and coaching skills; able to manage and influence the team to drive the HR functions.

· Strong organizational, analytical and management skills. Possess strong project management skills. Is a team player who works to build consensus but who knows when to make a decision and move forward.

· Previous experience in the Biotechnology/Life Sciences industry will be an advantage.

Education

Bachelors degree or equivalent knowledge gained through work experience required. Masters degree preferred; advanced HR credentials a plus.
