Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:
As a Cloud Services Dev Ops lead, you will be responsible for building next generation monitoring, deployment, configuration, and inventory management systems reducing the time to release new cloud services and to detect problems before they become customer impacting. You will work closely with QA, Operations and engineering teams to deliver world class tools supporting our cloud services that power connected experiences on Motorola's Android mobile products.
Responsible for all aspects of design and implementation leveraging the latest open source technologies. Use Agile (Scrum) methodology to lead engineering teams to deliver successful products..
Specific Knowledge/Skills:
At least 5 years of experience in software development as a Server Engineer.Must have: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Results oriented, product focused.Team player, values the project, company and co-workers. High energy and passion towards integrating new features.Experience developing service oriented architectures (SOA).Experience with in high-performance, high scalability distributed services. Expert in multi-threading and concurrency concepts.Expert in Java for service development but uses languages as a tool. The ideal candidate should be able to switch from (as an example) Bash shell scripting to Java to Python with relative ease. Good understanding of network protocols, especially TCP/IP and HTTPGood understanding of database design and SQL.Experience with Agile methodologies. BSCS is required.Nice to have:Experience with the following products and technologies: Linux,Familiar with web front end technologies like Apache Axis, JQuery and Dojo or proprietary web service implementations.Experience with large-scale NoSQL data management systems like Cassandra, Hadoop, Lucene and web 2.0 technologies a plusScrum Master certification or have through experience leading Scrum teams. *LI-DD1
