BASIC FUNCTION
Reports to Underwriting Manager responsible for reviewing renewal business, designing coverage for new business, and delivering proposals in a timely, organized, effective manner; Other responsibilities include working in conjunction with marketing and coordinating the necessary engineering, claims, and other customer service and activities. Visits to clients and/or customers required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION
REQUIRED
B.A./B.S. degree or equivalent work experience
DESIRED
Degree concentration in related field.
CPCU, CIC, ARM, AU or other Industry designation
WORK EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED
A minimum of two years insurance industry experience.
DESIRED
Property/Casualty insurance experience and/or mechanical or facilities engineering experience
TECHNICAL SKILLS
REQUIRED
Excellent data entry skills, Able to understand concepts of risk and reward, Excellent phone skills, Able to handle high volume of work, Able to prioritize.Detail Oriented.
DESIRED
Strong working knowledge of PCs, including Windows, Word, Excel and Lotus Notes. Ability to understand machinery and equipment breakdown exposures and coverage.
NON-TECHNICAL SKILLS
REQUIRED
Ability to communicate underwriting and marketing concepts both orally and in writing; strong interpersonal and organizational skills; strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
