Senior Research Scientist

THE OPPORTUNITY
You will join the Clinical Systems Biology Group at Philip Morris Products S.A, (Research and Development) in Neuchâtel, Switzerland.
You will manage research and development programs and also the resources deployed to deliver these in alignment with R&D Strategies and the Long Range Plan. The role requires independent application of scientific & engineering practices, procedures and theory to develop the business rationale and operational plan for the work. You have demonstrated technical competence in the design, development, and implementation of clinical solutions to understand complex biological phenomena where few precedents exist.
Specifically, you will:
  • Design clinical research studies to identify biomarkers associated with COPD, CVD and Lung Cancer through technical expertise and through cross-functional team work
  • Develop relationships with external partners for the conduct of clinical studies
  • Propose ideas for clinical research which is aligned with the PMI research strategy.
  • Lead projects and provide teams with guidance in clinical study conduct to ensure appropriate technical expertise is utilized to meet the requirements of the project.
  • Review the latest relevant clinical literature and technologies to identify those that should be researched further as part of the CSB (Clinical Systems Biology) program.
  • Scope new projects to be included into the CSB Portfolio to support the overall development of clinical assessment tools.
  • Continue to develop leadership skills in order to effectively supervise scientists and technical personnel.
  • QUALIFICATIONS
    · You possess an MSc / PhD in Life Science
    · You have a strong work experience in clinical research leading to the identification of biomarkers.
    · Fluency in both written and spoken English is a must
