Store Managers hold critical positions within the company. Their core responsibilities include; leading store teams, driving financial results, providing legendary customer service and recruiting and developing top retail talent. Compliance with company policies and federal and state regulations is essential.

Assistant Managers are vital to The Gymboree Corporation. Their core responsibilities are to assist the Store Manager with leading Store Teams, driving financial results, providing legendary customer service, and recruiting and developing top retail talent. Compliance with company policies and federal and state regulations is essential.

Sales Lead

The Sales Lead is responsible for supporting the management team in achieving financial goals by demonstrating selling behaviors and floor leadership, promoting a positive work environment and executing operational processes and objectives in compliance with company standards and policies. The Sales Lead position is considered a key holder role, not a management role.
Job Requirements :
Store Manager
Candidates must be skilled and experienced retail managers who have a passion to deliver unparalleled customer service and sales results. Candidates must have exceptional oral and written communication skills and possess the ability to inspire and lead diverse groups of people. Must be able to prioritize and delegate effectively and efficiently. Store Managers are required to have open availability and must be prepared to meet the needs of the business. A minimum of 2-3 of retail management experience is required, specialty retail management is preferred.

Assistant Manager
Candidates must be skilled and experienced retail associates who have a passion to deliver unparalleled customer service and sales results. Candidates must have exceptional oral and written communication skills and possess the ability to inspire and lead diverse groups of people. Must be able to prioritize and delegate effectively and efficiently. Assistant Managers must be available to work nights and weekends. Full-time Assistant Managers must have open availability. Part-time Assistant Managers must have a minimum of 31 hours availability per week. 1-2 years of retail experience is required, specialty retail experience is preferred.

Sales Lead
Candidates must have a passion to deliver unparalleled customer service and the ability to lead a team towards meeting/exceeding all sales targets including plan, comp and other key performance indicators. Candidates must be skilled at ensuring the store team meets tasking goals. Sales Leads must have a minimum of 31 hours availability per week. Retail supervisory experience in apparel preferred, but not required.

      Pros

      easy work, flexible schedule, discount, great management, best POS system

      Cons

      Pay, corporate wanted alot more overly sales-y pitches and behavior towards customers but that's the case with most big businesses, no real benefits for part-timers

      Advice to Management

      This is for higher up. We work with the customers and see what they need. If we check on them, we don't need to follow them around and continuously ask them if they need something: that's creepy. If you offer an accessory and ask if they have a rewards card, it's a bit much to also offer a credit card, especially if they didn't have the rewards card or if they got gymbucks. And three accessories is alot of accessories to offer when Gymboree products sell so well. We don't always have 3 to offer.
