Job Description

Hachette Book Group is seeking a Vice President of Marketing who will be responsible for overseeing advertising and publicity programs in the Nashville division. In this role, the VP of Marketing supervises staff, budgets, and promotional efforts for the benefit of three imprints: FaithWords, Center Street and Jericho Books.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Will serve as a member of the management team for the Nashville division, contributing to its strategic direction and effective operation.
• Will create and manage an approved annual budget for the promotion of the division’s books. This budget includes co-op, display advertising, internet promotions, radio and television advertising, direct mail, etc.
• Will provide leadership to the department’s staff members—enabling and equipping them to perform their jobs with maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
• Will serve as a liaison for marketing matters with authors, and literary agents.
• Will oversee the development of marketing plans for every title published by the division (approximately 50 annually).
• Will execute the marketing plans and deliver results
• Will have particular focus on approximately six major franchise authors and will develop comprehensive marketing plans for their books.
• Will oversee the development of sales materials (catalog, fact sheets, sales sheets, etc.) and meet deadlines for the production and distribution of them.
• Will maintain a close working relationship with the Hachette sales group to enable its effectiveness.
• Will serve as a member of the company’s Senior Management Board.
