We're currently interviewing for the following position:

Senior Database Developer

We are looking for a veteran Database Developer. You will have full ownership of our SQL Server database infrastructure. You must be an excellent DB developer and ideally, have a foundation in DBA responsibilities. You will work in a small, collaborative team of seasoned engineers and business personnel. We're looking for a SQL Server guru that has experience building high-volume, high-performance databases.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • You thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, you can change direction quickly, and you're eager to learn new skills as the need arises.
  • You have experience owning the data model and database architecture, creating a high-performance, reliable and scalable solution.
  • You are an expert at developing and testing all database code such as stored procedures and functions, specifically:
    • Strong understanding of T-SQL
    • Strength in set-based algorithms and high-performance query design
    • Strong understanding of using SQL Server query plan optimizer, profiler and other tools.
  • You are comfortable managing all test and production database servers, including core DBA responsibilities.
  • You can lead the engineering team on database design and implementation.
  • You have deep knowledge of managing the physical data storage as well as backup and recovery solutions.
  • You understand best practices for database configuration management and security procedures.
  • You can be available for off-hours production support.
  • Aspects of our technology include:
    • Clustered SQL Server
    • Real-time aggregated reporting information available to customers
    • SQL Server full text search
    • Integrate with a Java application via an object-relational mapping solution (Hibernate)

Senior Data Analyst

We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst with experience analyzing data related to compensation. This leader will help build the product by Owning and maintaining a taxonomy of occupations and employers, managing a team of individuals responsible for reviewing compensation reports from users, and calculating compensation metrics for display to our users.

This position will report directly to the VP of Product & Marketing and requires a driven and creative individual who enjoys collaborative problem solving in a small team environment.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Analyze Glassdoor.com surveys to determine pay levels for a job by industry, company size, and geography.
  • Manage a taxononomy of employers and job titles, regularly modifying it to support the needs of our users.
  • Track changes in the compensation market across industries and job families.
  • Manage a team of individuals responsible for reviewing glassdoor surveys.

Candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years Prior experience analyzing data related to pay and compensation.
  • Proficient in Excel and Access database skills, i.e., ability to run queries
  • Working knowledge of SQL a plus
  • Excellent data analysis skills, with basic knowledge of statistics.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to audit ones own work, and ability to prioritize.

Campus Marketing Manager

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Campus Marketing Manager to increase brand visibility to students at colleges and universities. This leader will devise and execute online and offline marketing campaigns targeted at university campuses and will develop and maintain relationships with university personnel and students.

This position will report directly to the VP of Product & Marketing and requires an enthusiastic and hands on individual who enjoys a quick paced startup environment.

  • 3+ years of outside/inside sales, promotions, grassroots marketing experience preferred.
  • Ability to Travel for Work
  • Proficient in Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment

Senior Software Engineer

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be playing a central role in the design, development and launch of the Glassdoor product. You will work on small, collaborative teams of seasoned engineers and business personnel. Because Glassdoor is a startup you will have broad exposure and the opportunity to wear many hats. We're looking for a developer with a strong background in building dynamic, high-volume web sites using Java and an Agile development methodology.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • You thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, you can change direction quickly, and you're eager to learn new technologies as the need arises.
  • You have several years (5+) of professional coding experience.
  • You have done Java web development on large scale, high-volume sites.
  • You have experience with “faster, lighter” Java tools including Refactoring IDE's, Spring, Hibernate and other open source technologies.
  • You understand presentation layer technologies such as HTML, CSS, templating frameworks (Sitemesh, Freemarker, Velocity, Tiles), Javascript, AJAX and Javascript libraries (YUI, Dojo, GWT)/
  • You are an excellent communicator and enjoy a collaborative environment.
  • You can take a task and deliver on it without lots of management
  • You appreciate Agile development methodologies, such as short-development iterations, test driven development and refactoring.
  • You're educated (BS/MS in Computer Science or other technical degree).
