I worked at Texas Roadhouse part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Training program is awesome. They seriously have it dialed in and are typically pretty good about who they decide to promote to a trainer.
One of the best things about working here is that you can really be proud of what you're serving. The concept is great, prices are great, and pretty much everything is made from scratch and delicious. Best steak for the price, hands down.
Great schedule flexibility, which is key for work-life balance.
The work environment is really fun! Pretty much everyone gets along and management holds contests each night which keeps things interesting.

    Cons

No benefits, which can be tough.
It's pretty exhausting work, since you are pretty much on your feet and running around for at least 4-5 hours each night, more if you work a double. But you get used to it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to employee suggestions. As a host/server I had so many ideas that I bounced off management, they told me they were great ideas, and then nothing happened. Allowing employees to affect change within your organization is empowering and great for morale. The people working hard day after day tend to have some pretty good suggestions. Just listen!
