They offer pretty much 3 days of paid time off right after training. Then you slowly accrue more time off based on how long you've worked with the company. If you're never late, etc. They also offer options for people to pick up for you (but it's not gauranteed), schedule changes after 90 days of employment, leaving early, PTO, UTO. But if all your points are gone and need someone to cover you for emergencies or sickness it can be really tough. They try to be as fair as possible but it becomes annoying when you have to constantly monitor your points because sometimes the system charges you for points when you were at work.
Paid time off is accrued, no vacation time is awarded I believe
1-800 CONTACTS has a structure they've come up with on their own to accrue PTO, based on a daily percentage. The best part is employees are allowed to post in advance with other team members for the opportunity to trade days off rather than use their time off if they choose. Major holidays are given as time off including 1/2 of New Year's Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Additional days worked can also benefit PTO.
