There were additional payments based on positive results as a consequence of sales activities for certain products and solutions
This only applied to plant workers. The office crew got their bonus in raises.
For some salaried employees only. "Bonus" stated as part of salary, e.g. 5% of salary they offer is this bonus (rate depends on job type and level)...Bonus tied to division performance (divisions consist of 1000s of people), not individual performance (though this change recently where there is a small multiplier based on individual performance and good luck getting better than "meets expectations"). Actual division goals are not shared or published, so you are in the dark except for the quarterly estimate of what your bonus will be. At the end of the year you get a statement saying you made 0-200% of this bonus. Some divisions consistently are below 100%. Advice to management: keep salary as salary, bonus as bonus. Don't combine them when advertising salary. Yes, it is great when above 100%, but the year it is at 60% and you are out a couple thousand dollars of "salary" it is not so fun.
