The retirement benefits are great up to 5% match at 100% with an additional 3% into a cash IRA no matter if you invest. The medical premiums are lower than typical these days. There are endless other benefits - including life, dental, vision, etc.

The healthcare benefits are relatively inexpensive. We have flexible working hours and a good deal of vacation.

3M is an amazing company! They treat their employees really well and make sure the benefits package is vibrant and with a ton of value.

Benefits are fine, but once you go too far in "your grade", you're screwed. Promotions are few and far between.

PROS: They provide 12 paid Holidays, and offer up to 20 weeks maternity leave (10 paid/unpaid), which is much better than most companies in the US. CONS: They only offer 2 weeks vacation time when you first start, which is pretty crappy, especially if you have kids. My previous employer provided 4 weeks from the start. 3M is a massive company who can and should easily provide 4 weeks from the start.

Total compensation was fine, but they do not offer cost of living increases when moving from one state to another (like moving to California). Nor do they change up their wages for industry such as working in the healthcare or pharmaceutical field where Engineers in these areas are known to earn more at other companies. The stock options are a nice bonus and I would encourage people to buy into these as it is a great way to earn some extra cash. 3M stocks are almost always a great buy especially if you hold them for a long time.
