A "sick day" at AT&T is treated as the equivalent to simply not showing up for work. You get a disciplinary point for calling out sick. These points remain on your record for 3 to 12 months and any more than 5 points is grounds for termination. That's right, if you're sick 5 days out of a year, you can be terminated.. for being sick. I'm not sure if this is even legal, but who would challenge such a huge corporate entity.

Very flexible based around business needs but better than most companies

Unlimited, to a point. I'm sure you'd get a call if you started taking a day each week. However, this is one of the few company policies where I feel they trust the employee.

Horrible! AT&T does not offer sick days to its employees, if you are sick you must go to work and if a manager feels you are not sick you have to stay and work with the public. And if you are sick you still get a point for attendance over something you cannot control. Managers do nothing to help with this unless you are one of those who are favored

Not many companies still offer "unlimited" sick days. It is honor system that we don't abuse this benefit before they take it away
