Great benefits at reasonable costs to the employee
Benefits are ok, for what comes deducted out of your paycheck, but I do wish we didn't have to pay out of pocket for health benefits. The 401k is in line with competition. They should allow new parents paid time off at 100-50% for 2-6 months. This would really help out new moms and dads.

Health insurance top notch. Great company match on 401k. Vacation allowance of 4 weeks max is a bit disappointing.
AVL works with a TPA to help get claims or issues taken care of quickly - very great asset. Also, the employee events are great as many companies are moving away from this type of employee appreciation.
Employee cost are minimal for family of 3 or more. Health, Dental and Vision coverage are comparable in comparison to competitor companies. Nothing special that makes AVL benefits better than their competitors.
Good vacation package. Good 401K match, provides high level of benefit at competitive rates.
There are a few options to choose with health care, they all are pretty decent. The 401K compensation is decent as well. They automatically put in 3% of your pay and if you put in 2% of your pay, they will add an additional 1% for a total of contributing 4% of your pay while you are contributing 2%. They have their own vision insurance with small amounts of reimbursements.
Vacation time off starts at 3 weeks for new employees with ~11 paid company holidays. Medical and dental benefits are among the better/best you can find in the auto industry. Multiple tiers available, with varying copay/MOOP and costs. 401k match is measly 4%, with no other retirement benefits. Performance-based incentive (i.e., profit sharing) doesn't exist since the company does not share ANY financials with employees. Bonus given to Sr. Managers, Chief Engineers, and above, but not to any of the Jr. Managers or staff. Total comp package is not currently competitive with the local OEMs, so many staff leave to join Ford or GM.
