Only received days off for Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving (2), Christmas (2), and New Years (1). If the holiday fell on a weekend then we did not get any days off.
Only couple of holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas, Memorial Day, 4th of July and 2 more.
No paid holidays for so-called temporary employees. The best perk is that if you are on the faculty, in California you get unemployment benefits during semester breaks.
your only off on national holidays, but you get paid
We used to have 2 floating holidays a year, but about a year ago they took one of them away and gave us Christmas eve off instead.
Only 9 holidays per year; not competitive enough
I have a lot of flexibility
Good except for New Years eve which is a standard business day if you are not in academics
There is no overtime allowed so Holiday pay is appreciated. It is paid at the same rate of your hourly rate for the day. Although 10 Holidays are listed, we are only paid for 8 of these days. This is very misleading. They also only recognize Memorial Day through New Year's Eve which leaves almost 5 months of no Holidays recognized.
Standard paid holidays. But they only recognize a few paid holidays. This might have to do with the way the semesters are structured, but otherwise, there are a lot of federally recognized holidays AAU does not recognize.
