Employer Summary

We value our employees’ health and welfare and offer comprehensive benefits to meet the needs of all our employees.HEALTHCARE

We start with a generous Cafeteria Plan that allows employees to choose between cash and/or qualifying benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and/or accident insurance. Additionally, employees may direct their contributions towards health savings and/or dependent care flexible spending reimbursement accounts.

RETIREMENT

We encourage our employees to work toward their future. To that end we have a unique and extremely generous retirement benefit. Acumen sponsors both a Traditional 401k as well as a Roth 401K. In addition to the employee contribution (100% vested) we have a 5% (on the gross earnings) employer contribution. There is no matching requirement and the employer contribution is fully vested after four years of employment with the company.

DISABILITY

Acumen provides short and long term disability and a company paid life insurance policy. Our employees can choose to purchase a supplemental life for themselves or their family members.

PTO POLICY

Work is important, but we understand that our employees have a life outside of work. Staff members accrue personal paid time off for vacation, personal business, and short-term illnesses. Accrual rates are based on years of employment, beginning with three weeks and two days per year and increasing to a maximum of five weeks and two days per year. In addition, Acumen offers eight paid holidays per year

EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

Acumen provides an Employee Assistance Program, which enables employees to access expert support services. This confidential program assists employees and their families in addressing behavioral health issues, supporting wellness activities, and accessing legal and financial resources.

COMMUTER BENEFITS

For employees who commute, we offer the opportunity to use pre-tax dollars in paying for commuting costs (including parking!), which can add up to some serious tax savings.

LEGAL SERVICES

We offer insurance plans covering potential costs associated with Legal Services and/or Identity Theft. These plans include paying for legal protection, consultations with lawyers, credit monitoring, and restoration of services in the event of identity theft.

Cafeteria plan can easily cover the average insurance needs. You might go over if you go crazy with the add-ons and include stuff like legal/accident/extended life insurance though. Would like to see an option for Kaiser. Free gym membership through 24hrs. Free or subsidized fitbits. Unfortunately, the 5% matching 401k doesn't begin vesting until after 2 years, and doesn't fully vest until 4 years. Also they pay you to take training courses too, just don't leave within a year or you have to reimburse them.

"Cafeteria Plan" comes nowhere close to covering health insurance

They offer very fair 401K plan, but the insurance plan is provided by Blue Cross. This is not very helpful.

Work hours are flexible, though depending on the project and interaction with the California office, most people don't come in before 9 am. 5% of salary is invested into a 401k, no matching beyond that. Vested after 4 years of working (33&66% after 2&3 years). Tuition assistance available after 1 year with the company, but you need to stay with the company for one year after completion of the course, otherwise you have to return it. More PTO won't hurt, but overall it's pretty solid.

The best is 401(k). The worst is no overtime payment.

There were very few benefits and perks given the long hours...no training offered.
