PDO to use for vacation, holidays and personal/family illness.
Very generous paid time off policy. I have 40 years of work experience at many different companies and industries. Nothing I have ever been offered stacks up.
Vacation and paid time policies are not great. Days when business offices are closed are not given holidays they must come out of PTO banks. This is explained as being fair to nurses and hospital staff working holidays.
Florida Hospital has a complete benefits package that no many employers have.
Sick and vacation time come from the same bank of hours: PDO or Paid Days Off Not practical when you have mandatory/modified holidays using half of your PDO in a calendar year.
The best thing about the vacation am paid time off is that. I am getting paid even though I’m not working.
If you work FT/PT you qualify for this. It is a great benefit but I have seen many staff members unable to use it when needed as they can't find another coworker to cover their needs. Per Diem does not qualify for this even if they work full time hours.
Accumulative system allows for more vacations days every year. Wish national holidays were separate, but still a great plan.

vacation and paid time off are in the same account as sick pay so you do not get stuck with unusable hours. however time does not roll over onto next year and is reset
