Aimco allows you to accrue vacation time however they do NOT consider it PTO. Big difference! With vacation time you pretty much have to plan it and get it approved but with PTO you can just schedule a random day off. Aimco not having PTO was a definite part of my reason in leaving for a company that did. Also, Aimco provides 8 days of 'sick time' but they know full well people are often NOT SICK when they use that time. Employees are using it as PTO so you might as well call it that. I used exactly 1 sick day in 6yrs because I was actually sick. Aimco does 'reward' you for not using any of your sick time by giving you a 'bonus day' off the following year. So take 8 days off as 'sick' and get paid or get 1 additional vaca day? Hmmm .... looking back I ended up on the wrong side of that coin.
2 weeks vacation paid, 1 week sick time, 1 personal and 1 floating holiday
What a great. Benefit to be able to have time paid off
They should bring all time off together into a regular PTO policy. Instead they're separate, I'd rather have 3 weeks of vacation time.
Most people want PTO, and we have vacation and sick time separately.
