In line with other companies
Their vacation and paid time off benefits was in line with the industry. It started with two weeks for new employees, and increased with service years.
Vacation could shift if the plant or other plants went down and there was no coverage
The vacation & PTO is a Standard offering
Recently increased vacation for new employees
Vacation was paid and normal to many companies offerings. PTO was only three days in a rolling year. This meant that any sort of illness such as the flu or something that keeps you down for more than 3 days in a roiling year either meant you didn't get paid, or you went into work sick. The latter was usually the case, and then the entire workplace would be sick.
2 weeks vacation starting out isn't enough, although they just changed it to 3 weeks. You need 10 years of work experience to get 4 weeks.
2 weeks for new hire, 3 weeks after 5 years, 4 weeks at 10 years, 5 weeks at 20.
a week of vacation after 6 months of employment
Generous, I think. Vacation is 2 weeks initially, 3 weeks at 5 years, 4 weeks at 10 years and 5 weeks at 20 years. I've also heard several stories of new (experienced) eemployees being hired from other companies being able to successfully negotiate for more weeks than 2 (as a new company employee).
