Management finds reasons to punish employees for taking time off. Only took one week off in 4 years and when I got back my job performance was all the sudden "sub-standard."
employees only get PTO, which they in turn use as vacation time. Seniority based bidding for PTO which is subject to approval. Constant shift changes makes it very difficult to pre-plan any family vacations and PTO requests that have been approved can be canceled.

Took one sick day in a year. They didn't likt it.
