    Best thing: we can buy up to an extra 10 days PTO Worst: HR apparently believes that employees like and appreciate non-monetary benefits (i.e. "lunch and learn," holiday party)

    I hate the fact that all PTO is lumped into one bucket i.e vacation, holidays and sick time and the accrual rate is abysmal.

    PTO is on the low end of the standard in the non-profit sector as vacation days, sick days and holidays are all rolled into the same bank. Flexible work hours and the option to work from home is encouraged more in some departments than others depending on function and manager. No 401K match, but there is a retirement plan provided. A more robust benefits package might be the deciding factor for potential new hires to work at NHP if they look at the overall comp package presented.
