Best: HR employees make a real effort to be caring and professional
Working at Alverno as a part-time Student Office Assistant in the Student Activities & Leadership Office was an incredible experience! My manager was a great mentor and I was able to start my career path with many different opportunities and experiences!
Good health insurance, free tuition, and time off over winter break.
Benefits are pretty good at Alverno, employee contributions to health care have not gone up as much as other companys. Several times it didn't go up at all. Several holidays are observed, although if you are faculty you get even more days off (not including summer). They used to 7% for retirement but that was dropped to 5% match a few years ago.
As a student worker, you don't get benefits. But Alverno is a great environment to work, and the perfect place to learn a lot about higher education settings.
Retirement 403b match is 5%, which has been lowered in the last couple of years. Medical insurance is ok for normal check-ups, but you're looking at a minimum of hundreds of dollars out of pocket for anything else.
I was only a part time student worker so there were no actual benefits. Benefit is that you get to do your homework and can select the hours that you want to work.
Great employer match rate on the retirement plan. Many days off during Christmas, Easter breaks.
6% match on 403b contributions & free tuition on classes
Really robust health coverage, and even though it takes a long time to accrue more vacation, there are MANY days off for everyone, including a paid holiday shutdown between Christmas and New Years. It's also really nice to have separate sick time that can be used for doctor's appointments or helping a sick relative.
