You are allotted a certain amount each quarter, but in theory are not supposed to take them. You are accountable and measured for your productivity while out sick, so it can be detrimental to making your goals. You are no longer allowed to accrue sick days. It always seems to me that management takes quite a bit more days than the actual employees. Our accrual of sick time was reduced as well when they reduced our work week hours.
