The tuition remission is an excellent benefit that can be applied for your spouse or child's tuition.

The benefits at AU are definitely generous. If you have dependents approaching college-age, the tuition benefits could be amazing if they're smart enough to be admitted.

The tuition remission benefit is useless because taxes and fees for the program are so high and salaries are so low. Doesn't help you at all getting the money taken out of your humble check when inflation and the cost of living is as high as it is now.

Hourly, no benefits. Don’t expect anything more than minimum wage

Former Adjunct Professor in Washington, DC, District of Columbia

I can't speak to much about the benefits package because as an adjunct, I barely got any. The biggest aspects was that I did not receive health insurance as an adjunct, and this was only made clear when I chased people down for this information. It left me in a really tight spot. On one hand, time off was relatively good as an adjunct since I was only working on campus when I was teaching and otherwise, I could set my own schedule for my prep work. On the other hand, the pay based on how much work was required was not long-term sustainable.
