Not much to say get better management
The owner opened up the Benefits discussion by saying "I should take you all to Romania so you'd stop complaining." If that doesn't give you an idea of how little they care... They bragged about a brand new bonus program for 2020, but from what I hear from people who are still there, no one is getting a bonus as it was set up to cut them out if not completely, then mostly. You receive two weeks vacation until you hit five years. Then you get three. And well... that's all folks. There is no reason to ever stay past five years. The good news is, you probably won't last that long. Nobody does.
Lowest basic package medical, vision, 401k basically of everything. Working for a company that only care about their profit growth... this is no shocker.
Terrible insurance, they have no interest in benefits. I heard on more than one occasion, "the benefit is that you get to work here." Forget about federal holidays. No one takes vacations as there is so little PTO to spare and everyone is miserable.
There is no best thing. It's atrocious. The PTO plan is insulting. No bereavement, management groans about closing for federal holidays, they really have no desire in increasing their benefits package. They were talking about including 401K when I left and the owners were not on board with the idea at all. And the insurance plans are the worst. They shop for the cheapest package to satisfy the most minimum of requirements and it is awful. Truly awful.
Standard benefits of medical dental vision and the medical costs for each month are really low. I can sign up for the 401k which has an amazing company match. They give you life insurance. The PTO and sick are separate but equal 3 weeks.
One Floating Holiday per year
Every year the benefits have increased, this year the package includes free Life Insurance, the ability to purchase additional, AD and D and a 401k plan with an excellent match.
They have a bonus structure but they withhold information to not pay out. No bonuses were given to any employee so far in 2018. No maternity benefits whatsoever. You have a baby- you have to save your 5 days PTO you get in a year and then use FMLA to guarantee your job back. This is a woman owned company. No bereavement time. Health benefits are for employees only. You can’t add your spouse, partner or children. Insurance benefits are minimal.
No bereavement, 5 days vacation, horrible insurance.
