Great coverage options with employer contribution
There are a few options, but not as many as there used to be. They do offer employee + 1, not just family.
Argonne offers group health insurance, administered by a third party (2015: Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois). HMO and PPO plans are available. Employees may cover spouses and dependents up to the age of 19 (higher age if in college). Argonne currently charges employees approximately 23% of the cost of premium. For example, in 2015, the cost of premium for a Single employee under the HMO Blue Advantage plan is $107/month. This plan has no deductibles, and co-payments of $25/visit at your PCP, or $35/visit at an in-network specialist.
Best thing about their insurance is how great the plans are. I had an HMO with 0 deductible and very minimal before-tax premiums. Worst thing is the "voluntarily coerced" "wellness" plans that have not been scientifically shown to be effective at improving health or reducing healthcare costs.
The insurance copays get higher each year,
benefit is average because some is good and some is not great.
the benefit would include family insurance. With HMO plan, an entire family could be covered with a moderate rate of ~250 dollars per month, which is pretty good. Good dental plan too.
Low deductible and a huge network
