Get to learn a lot of new things and talk to new people. Overall development in good.
There is never a lack of the staff wanting you to be able to do everything, however, whenever you take on a new task or change your job description they are not ones to give raises.

They offered professional development, but it is difficult to move upward if upper management does not favor you.

The best thing is that for holidays you get extra pay on the day of (university closure). However, you are also expected to work other days during the semester that students are typically absent for.
Lots of opportunities if you know where to look. Need more options for academic positions though.
There is no benefit package for a research assistant, but the salary is good compared with other research assistant.
My office is very big on professional development. Each employee gets at least one conference and one training course annually.
Have to seek opportuntiies on own but they are willing to cover at least 1 annual opportunity at national conferences. Not lots of in-house development
